Chuan Body + Soul
The Langham, London
London, United Kingdom
We all love a world class spa. What do we need to know about yours?
Our spa is a haven within London’s busy West End. With a calming, chic interior by celebrated designer, Martin Brudnizki, Chuan Body+Soul offers treatments that are based on the philosophy of Traditional Chinese Medicine as well as a range of beauty services. We feature male and female sauna and steam rooms, a fully equipped gym with cardio and strength equipment, as well as a beautiful 16 metre pool.
What makes you unique?
The Chuan treatments are unique to Langham Hotels and Resorts and they involve a tailored programme based on the five elements of Traditional Chinese Medicine (wood, earth, fire, metal and water). In addition we will soon be the very first spa in the UK to feature treatments and products from Jacqueline Piotaz, the celebrated Swiss beauty brand. Inspired by the herbal recipes of her grandmother, Jacqueline’s range is made with paraben free, organic ingredients that are clinically proven to be some of the most effective skincare treatments in the world, delivering improved cellular regeneration and reduced wrinkle depth.
What do you recommend as the ultimate treatment?
Chuan Body Elements that starts with a lifestyle and beauty analysis questionnaire to ensure that the perfect balance of oils and mists are used throughout the hour and a half long treatment. It’s a top to toe treatment that includes a Chuan Harmony Signature Massage, followed by a hydrating facial.
Any insider tips
The Chuan signatures have their own unique touchpoints which are not included in the other treatments. For example, the Chuan Foot Therapy ritual is the perfect add-on to any treatment as you get the full works with a foot mask, massage and even a scalp release. That’s the add-on we would recommend for the full spa experience! The Kerstin Florian Turkish body scrub is great before any body massage and will soften and get rid of the dead skin cells before the oil is applied.
In terms of the local area, obviously there are the shopping delights of Oxford Street and Mayfair within an easy stroll, but there are some lovely more undiscovered experiences nearby too. Why not take time out to explore Regent’s Park and find St John’s Lodge Garden, a tranquil formal garden, or explore the musical history of Handel and Hendrix who lived in adjoining houses (at very different times!) at Brook Street in Mayfair? Our enviable location, amidst the four London villages of Marylebone, Fitzrovia, Soho and Mayfair, means we have a really diverse range of experience at on our doorstep.
