Tschuggen Bergoase Spa
Tschuggen Grand Hotel
Switzerland
What can you tell us about your luxury spa?
Switzerland’s dramatic mountain-peaks provide the perfect backdrop for the ultramodern Mario Botta–designed Tschuggen Bergoase Spa, connected to the Tschuggen Grand Hotel. Nestled in the alpine region of Arosa, the 54,000 square-foot wellness center is built directly into the surrounding mountain, where a four-story retreat waits behind the sail-shaped windows.
The Bergoase includes a Kneipp trail, rock grotto, fire pit, and indoor and outdoor pools and saunas, among others. Add private spa suites and an extensive spa menu with Ayurvedic and hot stone treatments, and guests might spend their entire day inside.
What makes you unique?
The Tschuggen Bergoase Spa’s design is truly unique. Sails of steel and glass – opulent yet delicate at the same time – allow the sky and mountains to reach the furthest corners of the spa and flood each of the four levels with light and breathtaking panoramic views. The Tschuggen Bergoase’s design brings wellness to the heart of the mountain, combining comfort, nature, warmth, light, water and rock to create a one-of-a-kind space.
Additionally, as the spa is connected to the Tschuggen Grand Hotel, guests can take advantage of the property’s many experiences. These include their Spa and Relax two-night experience and Spa Week, allowing for unlimited relaxation time.
What do you recommend as the ultimate treatment?
One amazing treatment is the Cellcosmet Swiss Body Relax, including a relaxing and stress relieving massage combined with aromatherapy and a warming body pack. Featuring Cellcosmet cosmetics hailing from Switzerland, this treatment will help guests preserve their youthfulness with products containing the best available ingredients of cellular, herbal and marine origin.
For skiers and hikers, the ultimate treatment is the Skier/Mountain Climber Massage, one of Tschuggen’s signature treatments. Focusing on making tired legs fit again, the massage begins with a mountain pine bath to refresh tired legs, followed by a relaxing foot and leg massage to rejuvenate the muscles.
What other amenities can your guests enjoy?
Guests are welcome to use the R1 Sportsclub, offering private personal training and group classes, including fitness training, yoga and physiotherapy. The spa also features a Medical Wellness Center where guests can receive individual programs to help promote a healthy lifestyle.
In addition, the spa has two private suites, Muscida and Polaris, which can be reserved for two or more hours. Guests can completely relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings with their very own whirlpool, steam bath and sauna.
